Membership Applications
Membership applications are only accepted from people who have a solid background of film experience, preferably working on I.A.T.S.E. Local 873 shows as a non-member.
Applications must include:
1. A letter of intent
2. An updated resume
3. A recent photo
4. A minimum of three letters of recommendation from I.A.T.S.E. Local 873 Members.
*Your original Membership Application is kept on file at the union office. Please keep a photocopy of your completed package for your records. You may be asked to submit a second copy at a later date.*
I.A.T.S.E. Local 873 is no longer accepting Craftservice membership applications at this time.
I.A.T.S.E. Local 873 is currently accepting membership applications in all other categories.
Permit Applications
You must have the minimum requirements for your chosen category before you will be accepted for the mandatory I.A.T.S.E. Local 873 Toronto Film Orientation Workshop.
We are not currently accepting PERMIT applications. Please check back periodically to see if our lists have been opened up again.
*We do not accept Casual Labour (Craftservice) resume’s. You must be a skilled technician to apply.*
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Construction, Electric, Grip, Hair, Make-up, Paint, Script, Set Dec / Props / Greens, Sound / Boom, Special Effects, Transport, Wardrobe.
Toronto Film Orientation Workshop
This two-day weekend workshop is an introduction to the working environment of technicians in the Toronto film industry. It covers all aspects of on-set protocol, health & safety issues and basic filmmaking principles that all crew members must be familiar with. Successful completion of this workshop is a requirement for making an application for non-member status in I.A.T.S.E. Local 873.

The cost is $150.00 and payable prior to course date. Payment options include cash, money order, Visa or Master Card.
Please note: Successful completion of the workshop does not guarantee work in the film industry or automatic membership or non-member status in I.A.T.S.E. Local 873.
